As a Scout, the program leads you on a journey to become the best you can be. And with a focus on Youth-led planning and outdoor adventures, you are limited only by the boundaries of your imagination. It is a fun, hands-on learning experience where you can discover your potential in a safe, adventurous and inclusive way among peers with similar interests.
The best Scouting memories are often coupled with first experiences. Sleeping in a tent for the first time, a first campfire, attending a Camp, or traveling for a Canadian or International Jamboree; the first time traveling without your parents. All these experiences are things that Scouts will cherish and enjoy sharing because they are components of Scouting that become amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
These experiences develop confident and well-rounded citizens.
Scouts Canada engages youth, involving them throughout their formative years in a non-formal educational process, using a specific Method that makes each individual the principal agent of his or her development as a self-reliant, supportive, responsible and committed person. The Scout Method is an approach unique to Scouting throughout the world (World Association of the Scouting Movement’s Scouting: An Educational System) and includes each of the following eight elements:
Scout Law and Promise,
Learning by Doing,
The Team System,
A Symbolic Framework,
Appreciation of nature,
Personal Progression,
Adult Support, and
Community Involvement
Developing well-rounded youth, better prepared for success in the world.
Through our Plan-Do-Review method, Scouts are empowered to learn by doing. With Scouts Canada’s Youth-led programming, youth put leadership and teamwork into play by planning their activities with the guidance of an adult Scouter. The great Scouting adventure allows youth to explore new things, share ideas, learn new skills and create new paths.
Scouts is filled with a little bit of everything and plenty of opportunities for youth to personally develop in areas including like social, physical, intellectual, character, emotional and spiritual. Along the way Scouts meet new friends, collaborate to achieve goals, and develop self-confidence.
A place to discover new things and embark on great adventures.
Scouts can take their outdoor adventure skills to the next level with activities like mountain biking, rock climbing and lots of camping, and explore memorable opportunities like national or international jamborees.
Through Scouts, youth discover their unique capabilities and personal progression as they discover the world through Scouting.

As a Scout you must always think about how what you do may affect others (including people that you do not know).
This includes such things as not making noise which may disturb your neighbours and always disposing of your litter carefully.
